First off, congratulations again to the winners of the Heavy Tournament! I know we have not gotten your prizes to you, however we are currently waiting to hear back from some people and then they’ll be sent! Prizes will be sent no later than Friday!
Next up... details for the two vs two!
June is going to be a pretty busy month for me on weekends, and having just had two events almost on top of each other, we think it is best for both player burnout and hype purposes to take a short "hiatus".
The guesstimated date for the 2v2 is June 27th, pretty much a month away. Nothing confirmed until I hear from the almighty KetchupPanda.
The good news is, the only thing not completely locked down is the date. Most of the rules from the 1v1 tournament will be carried over, however we will be making some changes to evolve for 2v2.
For the 2v2, the format will be Standard Conquest. We are moving away from the One Cap Conquest to see how it affects gameplay.
Map: Frozen City Night, Canyon Network, Caustic Valley. Any spawn.
Round Tie Breaker: Total Kills > Total Conquest Points > Total Damage
Match Tie Breaker: Total Kills > Total Conquest Points > Total Damage
No roster limit, however only two codes will be given to each winning team.
The round time limit, time between rounds, and such will all remain the same.
Clan Streak-SRM4 and Clan Streak-SRM6 weapon systems are BANNED in all tonnage tiers of 110 tons or lower.
The 1v1s saw players locked to a Chassis, for the 2v2, teams will be limited by their tonnage and a ban on a specific weapon system for lower tonnage groups. We want to try to add a little unique touch, without getting too restrictive or hindering people’s ability to play. There are no minimum tonnage limits or banned ‘Mechs.
We will be offering multiple weight classes, however we do require a four team minimum for that weight class to be pushed to live. For the first time, we will also be offering a “beginner” tier, for players with less competitive experience who want to give things a go. There will also be a four team minimum requirement for this tier. The winning team from the Beginner Tier will have their rank increased for all future events.
Beginner: 105 tons.
Sweeper: 65 tons.
Mauler: 180 tons.
If the demand is high enough, an additional tonnage selection will be added based on popular vote.
Part 2 of the The Future coming soon™
Thanks and Regards,
Ardai
